  1. What makes something have artistic value is when someone thinks something is great and it catches other people eyes then eventually it grows to be successful! Like the mentioned in the video Mona Lisa, was a popular hit! This research changes the way I think about Art because some people express there way through art and other people like me express our selves through words.

    1. Also because to make something popular you have to get the word around and let people try the product and get people to spread the word!

  2. 1. According to the article, chance makes things successful and time and effort hae little to do with it.

    2. It makes me realize that chance doesn't have a lot to do with success, maybe very little. It has to do with taste. It's not by chance that people has certain tastes. They are attained over time or by discovery.

  3. Artistic value is presented as not only the quality or inherent properties of the art, but also luck. They presented that social and historical influence has a huge effect on what is called art and what is not. Basically it's just luck and influence. Not to say that quality has nothing to do with it. This research only re-enforces my beliefs and notions of art and the art world. So in summary npr did a nice piece and solid research and work. Very interesting.

  4. 1. What makes art popular is pretty much based on luck, and not as much the quality of the art. Art popularity is about how people receive it. 2. It doesn't really change my views on art popularity.

  5. 1. What makes something have artistic value is luck and chance according to the article.

    2. It didn't really change my views because I've always realized that there is power in persuasion. People are easily convinced these days especially through advertisements and media.

  6. What give art it's value is it's number of people that want to see it. The popularity comes from those who are interested by it. This slightly changes my view on art, it makes me think about the reason it is so popular.

  7. 1. What makes something have artistic value is really how people view the art. Also, if the artist creates something that means something to them and then portrays it in a way that has some meaning to his/her viewers then it will have some type of value.

    2. It doesn't really change the way I view art and popularity.

  8. Something has artistic value when more than one person likes or acknowledgedes your work something interesting or beautiful. Has something sort of meaning to it.

Anything can get popular, just have to find the right art
And exhibit it at the right time.

  9. 1. According to this article, chance, luck, and influence of others are what makes things popular/valuable. Because everyone knows about the Mona Lisa, and hear about how important/famous it is, we all assume the Mona Lisa is very special. The quality of the work has to be pretty good to become valuable, definitely not poorly made. Its also chance and luck that the Mona Lisa got so popular. There are tons of paintings that are probably more interesting, and are better quality than the Mona Lisa, but because of everyone's influence, we all see the painting very valuable and historical.
    2. This research changes my view on things that are valuable because it shows that the quality of something doesn't have to be completely amazing to become popular. People follow trends even if they don't agree with it.Something doesn't have to be super special to become valuable.

  10. 1. According to the article, chance, and the influence of your peers are the things that make something have artistic value.
    2. This article changes my point of view on things because I realize that everyone will have different opinions on how good a piece of art, music etc, is. For example, the Mona Lisa, many people view the art as an amazing piece of art, but it only matters on how you view it.
